Just last week (12/10/12), Beyoncé was reported signing a mutual $50 million deal with Pepsi, that will require Beyoncé to endorse Pepsi and Pepsi in return backing-up Beyoncé’s future projects whether related to Pepsi or not.
As good as this deal may sound to most, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) wants Beyoncé to back from it because according to their sources, Pepsi have added another artificial sweetener and acesulfame potassium to its brand.
The organization says Beyoncé is too big to endorse a product that is doing more harm than good to Americans. “Your image is one of success, health, talent, fitness and glamor.” CSPI statement reads, adding, “but by lending your name and image to PepsiCo, you are associating those positive attributes with a product that is quite literally sickening Americans.”
Whether you agree with them or not, I think they have a point but then again, Beyoncé got to do what Beyoncé got to do.
