Multi-instrumentalist rocker Jack White banned all cell phones connected to social media at his shows. Prompting all fans to “please leave their phones in their pockets/purses and enjoy the show live and in person.”
The rocker started a one-man protest against the use of camera phones at concerts earlier this year, an attempt to get things back the way they were… on his interview with News Limited, he said, “The gadgetry for the experience of a live show has gotten ridiculous. You look out and see a sea of blue screens, The worst thing is to watch a young kid watching a show on their camera screen, instead of watching it on stage. You just want to take it out of his hand and go, ‘Come on man, that’s not what this is about’.”
Because of this, White now has a big sign at his concerts with rules reading: the use of Twitter and Facebook is “strictly prohibited.” The rocker last show at Melbourne had the exact same sign for all fans to see; and to make it easier, they are urging fans just leave their phones at home when they are out for one of his concerts. Reported Daily Telegraph.
